22 Feb Vincent Draper with Hectic Hobo at Copper Common
I first saw Vincent Draper two years ago performing at The Barrel Room as part of a songwriter series I’d been hired to film for the night. I really enjoyed his set and have seen him a couple more times since then around SLC. Sidenote: This was also the second date with my boyfriend Bryan, so I remember it well.
Fast forward 2+ years later and we caught Vincent Draper with Hectic Hobo at Copper Common on February 5th.
Copper Common is a lovely little joint, but a tight squeeze for eight musicians even on a slow night. VD + HH put on a great show despite the space constraints and lack of table service after 8PM (brutal).
The songs varied between quiet, poetic numbers by Carson and Genevieve to a full on ruckus when the whole gang played (banjos and pianos and harmonicas, oh my!)
Highlight of the night for me was Nicholas Newberry on the squeezebox.
Of possible concern is that when this bunch combines forces Salt Lake experiences a temporary shortage of strings for acoustic instruments. Make sure to check these guys out when you get a chance.

A little while back my friend Jenn invited us out to hear her sing with John Louviere at The Garage....
The Infamous Stringdusters at Park City Live
I saw The Infamous Stringdusters play at Park City Live in February. Mandolin Orange (who I abosolutely adore) opened up for them, and we decided to stick around for the rest of the show....

Instead of spending Valentine’s Day being romantic at a fancy restaurant with my guy, we spent it listening to Mandolin Orange at Park City Live....
